I decided to try making my own hummus as it's hard to find a good store bought hummus with healthy oils. This was super easy and pretty good. It was well worth the few minutes of time it took to make.
1 (15 ounce) can chickpeas, drained
1/2 cup roasted red peppers
3 tbs tahini
2 tbs lemon juice
2 tbs olive oil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
In a small food processor, add all ingredients. Use a spoon to lightly mix them together. Then blend until a smooth consistency.
I use an older, small Ninja food processor, similar to the one in this set.
