Fake Lasagna



This recipe is adapted from a recipe called Lasagna Toss in the Taste of Home April/May 2019 issue, pg. 49. It's a little quicker than lasagna, tastes similar and was super good! 1 out of 2 of my picky eaters approved.


1/2 lb ground turkey
1/2 lb hamburger
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 cups spaghetti sauce
2 cups spiral noodles
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup ricotta cheese
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 package pepperoni
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
dried parsley


Preheat oven to 350. Cook noodles according to package, drizzle with olive oil and set aside. In a large skillet, add ground turkey, hamburger, onion powder, garlic powder and black pepper. Cook until meat is no longer pink. Add the spaghetti sauce and simmer until heated.
In a bowl, combine the cottage cheese and ricotta cheese.
Stir noodles into the meat sauce. Pour half of the noodle mixture into a large casserole dish. Cover with the cottage/ricotta cheese mixture. Sprinkle with 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese. Layer the pepperoni on top. Add the rest of the noodle mixture. Top with the rest of the mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with the parmesan cheese. Sprinkle the dried parsley to taste over the top.
Bake for 20 minutes.
