This slow cooker ziti recipe is super easy and tastes great. It also contains hamburger for protein. You could also substitute ground turkey for the hamburger.
1 lb. hamburger, browned in 1 tbs of olive oil
1 green pepper, diced
1 red pepper, diced
1/2 onion, diced
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 small can mushrooms
1 jar Ragu mushrooms and green peppers sauce
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp. cilantro
1/4 tsp. parsley
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 package ziti
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
Add all ingredients except ziti and cheeses in the order given to crock pot. Cook on low for 6 - 8 hours. Shortly before serving, cook ziti according to package directions. Drain and put ziti in a large bowl or dish and top with sauce mixture from crock pot, mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese. Serve.
